Emily K. Asencio is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Presley Center for Crime and Justice Studies, a collaborator with the Social Psychology Research Laboratory at the University of California, Riverside, and a member of the Center for Disease Control’s Academic Center for Excellence on Youth Violence Prevention Consortium. Her primary research focus is the relationship between identity development and criminal behavior for both juveniles and adults. Recent publications include an article entitled “Consistency and Enhancement Processes in Understanding Emotions,” with Jan E. Stets in the March 2008 issue of Social Forces, and a book called GIS and Spatial Analysis for the Social Sciences: Coding, Mapping and Modeling with Robert Nash Parker released by Routledge Publications in July, 2008.
